Who Is Eligible For The Canadian Experience Class Program?
Not all residents of Canada are eligible to apply for the Canadian Experience Class program. Only individuals currently residing in Canada who meet specific eligibility criteria are eligible to apply for this program.
Applicants for the Canadian Experience Class must possess a minimum of one year of skilled work experience in Canadian provinces within three years prior to their application date.
To be eligible for the Canadian Experience Class program, you must meet the following criteria:
- Have at least one year of skilled work experience in any Canadian province within three years of your application date.
- Your Canadian work experience must be obtained with proper authorization.
- Your occupation must be classified as skilled according to the Canadian NOC (National Occupational Classification) list, including managerial, professional, technical, or skilled trade positions.
- Your work experience must amount to a minimum of 12 months of full-time employment, defined as at least 30 hours of paid work per week, or the equivalent if part-time.
- Work experience gained while being a full-time student will not be considered.
- Meet or exceed the required language levels outlined by the Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) for the job.
- Undergo a language test approved by Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) to demonstrate proficiency in speaking, reading, listening, and writing in English, French, or both.
- Be willing to reside and work outside the province of Quebec, which has its own immigration program known as the Quebec Skilled Worker Program.
- While education is not a primary requirement for the Canadian Experience Class, providing proof of education can earn additional points in the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) under the Express Entry program. This may include Canadian high school or post-secondary certificates, diplomas, degrees, or foreign credentials along with an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) report from a CIC-approved agency.

Requirements For CEC Visa
- The applicant should have at least 12-months of full-time (or an equivalent amount of part-time) skilled work experience in Canada, acquired within the previous three years, from the date of applying.
- The candidate’s employment duties in Canada should fall under the NOC Code Skill Level 0, A, or B.
- The work experience should be paid and lawfully obtained
- A CLB (Canadian Language Benchmark) level 7 in English/ French for NOC skill level 0/A jobs or CLB 5 for NOC B jobs.
- The applicant should intend to stay outside of the province of Quebec.
