Scenic roads stretched throughout the territory, one of the longest Northern Lights seasons, and home to the world’s largest non-polar ice-field, Yukon is the Canada you dreamt of in every way. With a population of just over 36,000 people, Yukon is the least populated province of Canada.
Overlooked by towering mountain peaks, the lesser-known province of Yukon is 80% covered in the wilderness. Moreover, the province is home to Canada’s highest mountain, features scenic towns and more wildlife than people.
The Yukon Nominee Program offers pathways to foreign nationals to make their dream of becoming a Canadian permanent resident true. The Yukon Territory operates the following immigration streams:
The SINP offers a wide range of categories and sub-categories for potential immigration candidates. Most of the programs are not aligned with the Express Entry system meaning candidates need to apply for nomination without creating an Express Entry profile. Those in line with the federal Express Entry system allows candidates to get a provincial nomination and get an additional 600 point on the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) leading to accelerated visa processing in the future Express entry draw.
The Yukon Skilled Worker is for foreign nationals with skilled work experience and a valid job offer from an employer in Yukon. Eligible candidates receive a provincial nomination and can directly for Canadian permanent Residency from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
The Yukon Express Entry stream is for candidates with an active Express Entry profile and a valid job offer from an employer in Yukon. Eligible candidates receive accelerated processing on their immigration applications.
The Yukon Critical Impact Worker stream is for qualified workers with semi-skilled work experience and a valid job offer from an employer in Yukon. Eligible candidates receive a provincial nomination from Yukon and can directly apply for Canadian permanent residence from IRCC.
The Yukon Business Nominee stream targets individuals with business and entrepreneurial experience interested in owning and operating a business in Yukon. To be eligible for this stream, applicants must have a minimum personal net worth of 500,000 CAD, besides meeting the other requirements of the program.
The newly introduced Yukon Community Pilot (YCP) stream addresses Yukon’s economic and labour market needs. Candidates eligible under this scheme get a 2-year location-restricted open work permit.
