Prince Edward Island 2026 PNP Draw Schedule
Prince Edward Island Releases its 2026 PNP Draw Schedule
Prince Edward Island (PEI) has officially released its expected Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) draw schedule for 2026. This gives people who want to move to the province a better idea of when Invitations to Apply (ITAs) may be sent out during the year. This decision makes PEI stand out once more, as it is still the only Canadian province to make its yearly draw schedule public.
On January 7, 2026, the province’s official immigration website posted a tentative schedule. This schedule is meant to assist skilled workers, international graduates, and Express Entry candidates in preparing their Canada PR approach more efficiently.

PEI has stressed that these dates are only suggestions and are only meant to be used for planning. The province does not promise that drawings will happen these days.
Draw Dates May Change, And Extra Draws Are Possible
The schedule is a helpful guide, but PEI has stressed that it can choose how and when to make selections. The province might:
- Move a draw earlier or later than the listed date
- Conduct more than one draw in a single month
- Add unscheduled or “surprise” draws if labour market needs arise
In 2025, PEI did three more draws outside of its released calendar, in January, October, and December. This method was clearly visible.
Important Rule: PEI EOI Profiles Are Only Good for Six Months
If you want to move to Canada through the PEI PNP in 2026, you should know that there is one important rule that is different from most other provinces. An Expression of Interest (EOI) profile is only good for six months after it is submitted. In contrast, many other provincial nominee programs let EOIs stay active for up to a year.
- People who want to apply must always keep their profiles up to date.
- To stay eligible, profiles that have expired must be resubmitted.
- Candidates should apply as soon as they meet the requirements.
- If you don't renew your expired profile, you might miss an invitation round.
Who Will Get Invited in 2026?
PEI announced that the total number of invitations and selected candidates will change with each draw. Several things will affect the choice of candidates, such as
- The IRCC's 2026 nomination allocation for the province
- There are not enough workers in Prince Edward Island right now.
- Key areas and jobs that are in high demand
- There is a need for planning the economy and the workforce.
What This Means for Potential Applicants
- Aligning with in-demand occupations.
- Securing job offers in participating provinces.
- Staying informed on changing eligibility systems like the new EOI portal.
A look back at how the PEI PNP Draw went in 2025
- Looking back at 2025 can help us understand how PEI might work in 2026.
- PEI held 14 draws in total, even though they only planned 11.
- Eight of the eleven planned draws took place on the dates they were supposed to.
- There were 1,609 Invitations to Apply sent out.
Almost all invitations were sent out under:
- Category of Labor Impact
- Stream for PEI Express Entry
There was only one invitation sent out under the Business Impact Category, and it was through the Work Permit Stream.
PEI's Top Jobs for 2025
In 2025, PEI only invited people who worked in industries that were important to the provincial economy. These were
- People who work in healthcare
- Workers in skilled trades
- Jobs in manufacturing and industry
- International students who have graduated from certain designated learning institutions
Despite the absence of the official priority list, we anticipate a similar targeted approach in 2026.
What This Means for People Who Want to Get PR in Canada in 2026
- Strong alignment with the job market needs in PEI
- Submitting and renewing EOI profiles on time
- Being ready for both planned and unplanned draws
People who apply early and keep their profiles up to date will be in the best position to take advantage of the next round of invitations.
