Complete Document Checklist for Express Entry Canada

Every year, millions of individuals dream of relocating to Canada. However, only those who fulfill the Canada PR eligibility, attain the necessary CRS score, and submit thorough documentation with their application are granted the opportunity to transform their aspirations into reality.
The preferred choice for most applicants seeking a Canada PR visa from India is the Express Entry system. This route ensures that applications are processed within 6 months, making it one of the quickest paths to immigration in Canada. Despite its speed, many applications face rejection, primarily due to insufficient or incomplete documentation. Thus, it is imperative to priorities meeting the requirements and thoroughly reviewing documents before submission to secure your permanent residency visa successfully.

Creating an Express Entry profile requires specific documents

While you don’t have to submit them initially, you’ll need information from the following:

Documents Needed for Canada PR Application

Simply completing an online Express Entry profile or joining the pool does not assure an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residence. Your profile in the Express Entry pool is ranked against others and assigned a CRS score.
Higher-scoring candidates stand a better chance of receiving an ITA in the subsequent Express Entry draw conducted by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). Once invited, IRCC will prompt you to submit a comprehensive application for permanent residence.
Upon receiving an invitation from IRCC, you must provide the following documents required for Canada immigration, in addition to those used to create the Express Entry profile:

Upload copies of the documents utilised for your profile, along with those listed below:

Previously, candidates were required to undergo a medical exam before applying for a Canada Express Entry program. However, as of October 1, 2023, this is no longer mandatory. You are no longer obligated to undergo an upfront medical exam before submitting your PR application through Express Entry.
    Await notification from IRCC.

    Additional Documents

Upon the submission of your Express Entry PR application, the IRCC initiates the verification process. During this phase, if additional information or documents are necessary, the IRCC will incorporate them into your personalized document checklist.
It’s important to note that the failure to submit these requested documents does not automatically result in the rejection or refusal of your application. The IRCC seeks these documents to assess your eligibility for the specific Express Entry managed stream you have applied to.

Darren Reeder, President and Chief Executive Officer, Tourism Industry Association of Alberta:

“Alberta’s tourism and hospitality sector plays a vital role in employment and economic well-being. The government’s commitment to more than doubling the value of Alberta’s visitor economy underscores the significance of the new Tourism Hospitality Stream in developing a year-round tourism workforce. This will contribute to the creation of new tourism products and services that align with the preferences of global travelers.”

    What Comes Next?

Once all documentation is provided, await processing. The IRCC typically processes most Express Entry applications within 6 months or less after receiving a complete application.
Keep in mind that failure to provide any document listed in the checklist may lead to the rejection of your application. Furthermore, authorities could deny your application if the processing office lacks sufficient information to confirm your compliance with the requirements of the Express Entry program you are applying for.
