Federal Skilled Worker (FSW) Program
Detailed Process for the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP)
The required stages for applying for permanent residence in Canada under the Express Entry–Federal Skilled Workers Program are outlined below.
Step 1: Verify Your Eligibility
The requirements for applying for Canada PR through the FSWP must be understood. The minimum requirements for eligibility are listed below.
JOB EXPERIENCE
Candidates must possess at least 12 months of full- or part-time experience working in a relevant field. The experience ought to be ongoing and uninterrupted by any breaks.
Additionally, the applicant’s work experience needs to be in a field that is related to the skilled employment category for which they are seeking. In accordance with the National Occupation Classification (NOC), shows the occupations under different categories.
SKILL TYPE 0(ZERO)
This skill category covers all managerial positions, including those in the food and beverage and hospitality industries, the retail and wholesale trade, and management positions in general.
SKILL LEVEL A
All professions requiring a professional degree or college education, such as those in engineering, information technology (IT), law, accounting, and other fields, fall under this category of skills.
SKILL LEVEL B:
All technical and entry-level positions, including those for tradesmen, chefs, and plumbers, fall under this skill category. People who apply under this category often have experience working as apprentices and may have a certificate in their desired field.
LANGUAGE TESTS:
Candidates must pass a language proficiency test that has been approved to show that they are competent in speaking, listening, reading, and/or writing English and/or French. The needed score is 7 or above. However, the applicants’ CRS scores will increase dependent on their language test results.
EDUCATION QUALIFICATION:
A high school diploma is the bare minimum degree of education necessary for the applicant. The candidate must take an Educational Qualifications Assessment (ECA) for his educational qualifications if his schooling was done outside of Canada.
PROOF OF FUNDS:
When submitting their initial application to the Express Entry pool, candidates who want to apply for Canada PR without an existing work offer must state that they have the necessary financial resources for settling in Canada. They must present evidence of the ITA once they have one. When needed, the cash must be readily transferred and in a liquid state.
Step 2: Compile the necessary documents
You’ll need the following records in order to construct your Express Entry profile:
- A current, unexpired passport is required to establish your identity.
- Proof of reliable test results for the languages of French and/or English to demonstrate your linguistic ability
- And documents attesting to your relationships, such as a birth certificate or marriage certificate if you're applying alongside your spouse or children.
- Tax returns, pay stubs, and account information as verification of money
Step 3: Submit an Express Entry application
The most critical and significant step for Express Entry is this one. At this time, it may be beneficial to seek the advice of a knowledgeable immigration advisor as any mistakes could delay or impede the process altogether. If you intend to complete it on your own, you must submit your profile via the IRCC website.
Step 4: Receive an application invitation from the IRCC
Step 5: Complete the medical and police clearance certificates
In order to prove that you do not have any grounds—medical or criminal—for being barred from entering Canada, you must have yourself examined by a doctor who is on the IRCC’s list of approved medical professionals and acquire a police clearance certificate.
Step 6: Assessment and approval of the Canada PR visa
An immigration officer from Canada will complete this phase. He or she will carefully analyze your application and let you know if any additional paperwork or explanations are needed on your end. You would receive confirmation of your Canada PR visa after successfully completing this step.
You could fly to Canada and have your Confirmation of PR Status, or COPR, stamped at the port of entry after you obtain it. Once it has been certified, you will have PR status and be eligible to apply for a Visa card that serves as legal identification in Canada.
