Spotlight on the Alberta Opportunity Stream
Who This Stream Targets The AOS is intended for individuals who:
- Hold a valid Alberta-based job offer
- Possess an eligible occupation and an active work permit
- Meet Alberta’s baseline requirements for experience, language ability, and education
- Demonstrate long-term prospects for integrating into Alberta’s labour market
Healthcare Recruitment Through Express Entry
Why Healthcare Candidates Are Being Prioritised
Alberta continues to struggle with staffing shortages across hospitals, clinics, and long-term care centres. By tapping into the Express Entry system, the AAIP can quickly nominate qualified nurses, physicians, medical technologists, and other health professionals. To date, 494 nominations have been issued through the priority sector category, which carries a total allocation of 660 spots for 2025.
Federal Allocation Boost Drives Increased Activity
Why Alberta is Running Targeted Draws
The Law Enforcement Pathway, launched in 2023, bridges recruitment gaps among Alberta’s policing services by connecting immigration to public safety recruitment programs.
