Invitation to Apply (ITAs) issued by IRCC for Canada PNPs (British Columbia, Manitoba, and Saskatchewan)

    During the last week, the government of Canada issued various ITAs for specific provinces i.e. British Columbia, Manitoba & Saskatchewan. All Canadian provinces and territories (except Quebec and Nunavut) have their PNP. Through these programs, interested candidates can be invited to apply for a provincial nomination.

    While provincial nomination is not the same as a permanent residence card, it can significantly increase a candidate’s chances of becoming a permanent resident. Provincial Nominee Program was started by the administration with the aim to attract a huge number of international students, skilled workers, and semi-skilled workers to immigrate to Canada.

    For example, PNP candidates with Express Entry profiles who receive a nomination receive 600 points added to their CRS score. They may also be invited to apply for a specific round of PNP invitations. After the successful invitation, the candidate gets 6 months to decide on a PR visa. Immigrant has to live and work in the province to obtain Canadian Citizenship.

    British Columbia

    In the Aug. 10 draw, more than 155 candidates were invited to apply for the British Columbia provincial nomination. British Columbia typically holds a provincial nomination draw every Wednesday. This week, the province invited most candidates to a regional draw for certain categories, including skilled jobs.
    This type of lottery is designed to fill labor gaps in B.C. in specific areas of the province experiencing skills shortages. Skills and Immigration Registration System (SIRS) minimum scores range from 76 for entry-level and semi-skilled workers to 114 for candidates in the Skilled Worker program SIRS behaves like the Express Entry Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS), but only for the British Columbia PNP.

    The country has also invited candidates for the following majors with 60 CRS:​

    • Early childhood educators and assistants
    • Healthcare professionals
    • Entry-level and semi-skilled workers , Skilled worker,
    • International graduates for remaining jobs

    Saskatchewan​

    The province has invited 745 applicants under the express entry system and Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP).
    Immigrant has various options under express entry like Federal Skilled Worker Program, Federal Skilled Trades Program, and Canadian Experience Class. In July month, the province held a total number of four draws. As in the last draw on July 27, the minimum score for expression of interest in both categories was 68. All invited candidates had a credential assessment.

    Manitoba​

    Manitoba held its PNP draw on August 11 and issued 345 invitations through Manitoba’s Nominee Program. Invitations are divided into three immigration categories: Skilled Workers in Manitoba – 257 invitations with a passing score of 623; Overseas Skilled Workers – 33 invitations with a minimum score of 718 International Education Stream – 55 invitations, no score requirement.

    Nevertheless, the province put forward numerous immigration streams, split up into the following four categories: ​

    • Skilled Workers in Manitoba (SWM)
    • Skilled Workers Overseas (SWO)
    • International Education Stream (IES)
    • Business Investor Stream (BIS)
