    British Columbia Issues 714 Invitations in High-Value Immigration Draw

    British Columbia has conducted another major provincial immigration selection, inviting 714 candidates to move forward with applications for provincial nomination. The September 24 round focused on workers with strong earning potential and competitive scores under the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BCPNP).
    The latest selection is particularly notable because it targeted candidates who either held qualifying job offers with high wages or achieved strong results in the province’s registration system.

    September 24 BCPNP Draw: Key Numbers

    The latest round was divided into two groups. A total of 426 invitations went to candidates whose qualifying job offers met the province’s wage requirements, while another 288 invitations were issued based on registration scores.

    High-Wage Workers Account for Most Invitations

    The largest share of invitations went to workers whose employment offers demonstrated a high level of earnings. To qualify through this route, candidates needed a TEER 0–3 position with an offered wage of at least $52 per hour, equivalent to a minimum annual salary of $105,000.
    The province also considered candidates based on their registration scores. Applicants needed to reach at least 131 points to be invited through this selection route.

    2026 BCPNP Invitation Activity

    The September selection adds to significant invitation activity by British Columbia throughout the year. By September 24, the province had issued 3,974 invitations through selections based on wage or salary combined with job offers and registration scores.

    When all worker and entrepreneur streams and selection criteria are included, the BCPNP had issued 6,128 invitations during 2026. The province has an overall 2026 nomination allocation of 6,254 spaces, making the year’s invitation activity particularly significant.

    British Columbia's Entrepreneur Immigration Activity in 2026

    The September 22 selection was the 10th entrepreneur-focused selection event conducted by British Columbia this year. Across these selection events, the province has carried out 17 individual draws targeting candidates through the Base and Regional streams.
    The program has issued at least 114 Entrepreneur Immigration invitations so far in 2026. When Skills Immigration selections are also included, the BCPNP has issued more than 5,400 invitations during the year.

    How the BCPNP Skills Immigration Pool Works

    Candidates interested in the Skills Immigration category generally begin by submitting an Expression of Interest (EOI) registration.
    Information provided through the registration is used to calculate a candidate’s score. Eligible profiles are then placed into the relevant selection pool, from which British Columbia conducts periodic invitations. The latest available data, dated September 1, showed 8,013 profiles in the Skills Immigration registration pool.

    The distribution shows that candidates with scores of 130 or above represented a relatively small portion of the registration pool, while the largest group was between 100 and 109 points.

    Where Does the TRHSI Apply?

    Not every location in British Columbia qualifies for the initiative. In particular, job offers in several major regional districts are excluded.

    These include:

    • Central Okanagan Regional District
    • Metro Vancouver Regional District
    • Capital Regional District

    However, specific Gulf Islands are exceptions to the Capital Regional District restriction. These include Galiano Island, Mayne Island, Pender Island, Salt Spring Island and Saturna Island.

    Applicants should therefore verify both their work location and employer before assuming that their employment qualifies for the pathway.
