Canada Invites 792 Candidates in Latest Express Entry PNP Draw

Canada has conducted another Express Entry selection round, issuing 792 invitations to candidates nominated by provinces and territories for permanent residence. Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) held the draw on October 26, 2026, with a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 761.
The latest round highlights the continued importance of provincial nominations in Canada’s immigration system. With provinces selecting skilled workers to address regional labour market needs, the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) remains an important pathway for eligible candidates seeking Canadian permanent residence.

Invitations to Apply for the Federal Skilled Worker Program, Canadian Experience Class and Federal Skilled Trades Program may be issued through this round of invitations.

Total Express Entry ITAs for 2026

With this latest draw, IRCC has now issued 144,259 ITAs through Express Entry in 2026. The distribution of invitations clearly reflects the department’s priority streams.

The high volume of Canadian Experience Class invitations indicates a growing emphasis on bilingual talent as Canada works to meet its long-term Francophone immigration targets.

    Category-Based Draws Conducted in 2026

Express Entry rounds this year have been limited to specific streams rather than broad, multi-program draws.

The draws are now divided as follows:

Provincial Nominee Program draws have been the most frequent in 2026, reflecting the federal government’s collaboration with provinces to address localized workforce shortages.

Eligible Occupations Under the New Category

The senior manager category was introduced as part of immigration policy adjustments announced in February 2026, which added several new occupational groups to category-based selection. To qualify, applicants must have at least one year of Canadian work experience within the last three years in one of the following leadership roles listed under the National Occupation Classification (NOC):

These occupations represent executive-level roles that play a key part in managing major industries and organisations across Canada.

Why Canada Continues to Select Provincial Nominees

Provincial nominations help Canadian provinces and territories attract workers who can contribute to local economies and address regional labour shortages. Each participating jurisdiction has its own eligibility requirements and selection priorities.

For eligible Express Entry candidates, a provincial nomination can add 600 CRS points to their ranking score. This substantial increase can make a significant difference in their prospects of receiving an invitation through a PNP-specific draw.

Candidates interested in this pathway should explore provincial streams that match their occupation, qualifications, work history and settlement plans. Meeting a province’s nomination criteria remains essential, as eligibility requirements differ between programs.

    Recent Express Entry Trends

Canada’s Express Entry activity in 2026 has covered a broad range of candidate groups. Recent rounds have included:
This pattern shows that Express Entry selections have been spread across different programs and targeted categories throughout the year.

Upcoming Express Entry CRS Changes in November 2026

Canada is also preparing changes to the CRS that could affect how certain candidates rank in the Express Entry pool. From November 3, 2026, the planned Labour Market Integration Factor (LMIF) will introduce additional points for eligible high-wage job offers and qualifying Canadian work experience in selected occupations.

    Under the announced framework:

The changes will also remove the LMIA requirement from qualifying job offers under the Federal Skilled Worker Program and Federal Skilled Trades Program. IRCC has indicated that Express Entry invitations will be paused temporarily while candidate scores are recalculated, a process that could take up to two weeks. The reforms will restore job-offer-related CRS points, which were removed in March 2025.

What This Means for Canada PR Candidates

The latest PNP draw provides another opportunity for candidates with provincial nominations to move closer to permanent residence. However, the 761 CRS cut-off shows that applicants must pay close attention to their ranking scores and eligibility for specific selection rounds.

Candidates planning to immigrate to Canada should focus on improving language scores, maintaining accurate Express Entry profiles and exploring provincial nomination options that match their backgrounds. Those with Canadian work experience or qualifying high-wage employment should also monitor the upcoming CRS changes to understand how the new rules may affect their profiles.

As Canada continues its targeted selection rounds, choosing the right immigration pathway and keeping up with IRCC announcements will remain important for candidates seeking permanent residence.
