Alberta Prioritizes Sector-Specific Skills in Latest Immigration Invitations
Alberta Targets In-Demand Sectors in Latest Immigration Draw
June’s final draws under the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) highlight a growing emphasis on targeted immigration. With a keen focus on strengthening its construction and agriculture workforce, Alberta continues to invite candidates aligned with in-demand sectors of its economy.
This latest selection round took place on May 1, 2025, and focused exclusively on skilled workers outside Canada.

Fresh Rounds of Invitations Target Priority Occupations
In the second half of June 2025, Alberta conducted two separate draws under different streams of its provincial program, selecting a total of 133 candidates for permanent residency consideration.
- June 20, 2025: The Alberta Opportunity Stream welcomed 118 candidates with backgrounds in agriculture, setting the cut-off score at 52.
- June 25, 2025: A separate draw invited 15 candidates with construction experience through the Alberta Express Entry Stream. The minimum required score was 67.
These draws are part of Alberta’s broader strategy to build a workforce that supports the province’s key economic sectors.

With over 2,000 nominations still left to be issued in 2025, Alberta remains an attractive destination for skilled professionals seeking long-term opportunities in Canada.
