    Manitoba Targeted Skilled Worker Invitations

Manitoba keeps pushing the development of its workforce with yet another ambitious move via the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP). On August 21, 2025, the province held its latest immigration draw, opening the doors for skilled workers to apply for provincial nomination.

The 17th immigration draw of the year indicates Manitoba’s determination to attract the best brains that drive long-term economic and community goals.

    Who Was Invited?

The draw issued a total of 77 invitations, or Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs). The cut-off score to be eligible in this round was 612 points based on the province’s Expression of Interest (EOI) system.

Out of the selected candidates, 18 had their origins from the federal Express Entry pool, which comprised their eligible profile numbers and job seeker validation codes. This Express Entry link provides the individuals who have been selected with an accelerated pathway to permanent residence.

    Recruitment Pathways Driving the Draw

This particular round of selection was unique in that all invitations were issued through Manitoba’s strategic recruitment initiatives. These are exclusive programs to link international talent with provincial employers and communities that need skilled labor.

The invitations were issued under four broad programs:

By doing so, Manitoba positions newcomers in a position to contribute most to their culture and utilize their skills.

    Invitation Distribution by Employment Source

The following Census Metropolitan Areas (CMAs) now fall under the exclusion list due to jobless rates exceeding the 6% threshold:

    Recruitment Pathway Invitations Issued
    Employer Services 15
    Francophone Community 19
    Regional Communities 1
    Ethnocultural Communities 2

Also, seven participants had active Express Entry profiles with active job seeker validation codes.

Why Certain Eligible Candidates Missed Out

Although applicants who scored or exceeded the 612-point threshold could anticipate an invitation, some were not invited. The MPNP attributed that this was typically the result of clerical errors, including:
These considerations emphasize the need to be accurate and complete when submitting an EOI profile.

    Understanding Manitoba's Strategic Recruitment

Manitoba’s intake campaigns are not gap-filling exercises but strategic endeavors bridging community need and overseas talent. Employers and community groups identify occupations that persistently have a shortage and provide nominations of candidates whose expertise is required to fill the shortages.
To be eligible, employers must meet strict eligibility criteria, such as compliance with Manitoba’s ABC Recruitment Process, before submitting candidate information to the provincial government. For candidates, the conditions cover from age to education, work experience, and language skills to conditions pertaining to the specific recruitment program.

    Building Communities Through Immigration

This new attraction is also emphasizing Manitoba’s long-term approach: tapping immigration to develop local economies and maintain community growth across the province.
In appealing to Francophone, regional, and ethnocultural communities, the province is not just generating economic development but also cultural diversity and population balance.
