Alberta PNP September 2025: More Than 1,400 Invitations Issued

Alberta doubled its immigration this September, issuing more than 1,400 invitations under various provincial nominee program (PNP) draws, the largest monthly intake this year. Alberta’s Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) is quickly becoming the gateway of preference among skilled workers who dream of emigrating to the province.

Over 1,000 Invitations Distributed in Each Draw

On September 12, 2025, the AAIP held its largest draw of the year through the Alberta Opportunity Stream (AOS). A record-high 1,113 invitations were issued to temporary foreign workers already working in Alberta who also happen to hold current, valid job offers from Alberta-eligible provincial employers.

This draw’s minimum threshold stood at 63 points, indicating Alberta’s high demand for workers willing to relocate to the province for permanent residence.

    Highest Draw of the Month

Its largest draw occurred on September 4, when Alberta Opportunity Stream issued 891 invites to potential nominees who scored at least 56.
The stream is still Alberta’s leader in terms of popularity, with the highest market share of provincial nomination spots and receiving hundreds of thousands of Expressions of Interest (EOIs).

    Specialized Industry-Specific Additional Sectors

After this huge AOS draw, Alberta conducted two more specialist draws:

Combined, the three draws issued a combined total of 1,433 invitations during the period September 12-19.

    Breakdown of September Draws

We take a closer inspection of this month’s released invites:

Sept. 2 Dedicated Health Care Pathway (Express Entry) 126 49

Why Alberta is Running Targeted Draws

Alberta Opportunity Stream remains the central part of the AAIP, which provides a fast-tracked processing option to temporary foreign workers who are already contributing to the Alberta economy. On the other hand, the Accelerated Tech Pathway within the stream corresponding to the Express Entry is aiming to attract high-demand ICT skills, e.g., software engineering, as well as IT services.

The Law Enforcement Pathway, launched in 2023, bridges recruitment gaps among Alberta’s policing services by connecting immigration to public safety recruitment programs.

    Allocation and Nominations in 2025

Alberta’s nomination allocation in 2025 is 4,875, of which 3,749 allocations have so far been issued by September 11. That gives 1,126 allocations left in the year.

This is as far up the nomination trail:

Stream 2025 Allocation Nominations Issued Remaining Nominations EOIs in Pool
    Alberta Express Entry – Priority Sectors 405 348 57 4,619
    Dedicated Health Care Pathways (EE + Non-EE) 500 353 147 1,633
    Alberta Opportunity Stream 2,592 2,016 579 41,848
It also confirmed that there are 1,768 pending in its processing queue.

    Work Towards Annual Nomination Goals

Alberta issued a total of 3,983 nominations until September 26, 2025, while remaining within the annual limit of 4,875, leaving the remaining quota of the year, i.e., 892, open.

    A recent breakdown shows that:

    Boost from the Federal Government

Previously this month, the federal government approved Alberta an additional 1,528 nomination spots, bringing the provincial allocation up to 6,403 for the year 2025.
Although formal announcements are still awaited on Alberta’s immigration portal, the shift implies that there will be more opportunities open to skilled workers in various sectors during the coming months.

    Conclusion

The surge in invitations and additional quota underscores Alberta’s proactive approach to meeting labor market demands. Skilled workers in technology, healthcare, law enforcement, and hospitality stand to benefit the most.

Those in the federal Express Entry pool with Alberta ties or job offers from eligible employers have the strongest chance of securing a provincial nomination. With almost 900 nominations still to be allocated, and many more after the federal increase, the prospective Alberta settlers who are looking at the program as an option see a golden opportunity.
