British Columbia Gives Workers More Time to Register for New PR Pathway
602 Candidates Selected in August 20 BCPNP Draw
The August 20 selection round was the province’s 20th BCPNP draw of 2026. Unlike occupation-specific selections, this round focused primarily on two economic indicators: the wage attached to an eligible job offer and the candidate’s registration score.
A total of 337 invitations went to candidates whose TEER 0–3 job offers carried a wage of at least $55 per hour, equivalent to approximately $110,000 annually. Another 265 candidates were selected based on their BCPNP registration scores.

New Registration Deadline Announced

Where Does the Pathway Apply?
The TRHSI does not cover every location in British Columbia. Generally, the job must be located outside the:
- Metro Vancouver Regional District
- Capital Regional District
- Central Okanagan Regional District
However, several islands within the Capital Regional District are specifically treated as eligible locations. These include:
- Galiano Island
- Mayne Island
- Pender Island
- Salt Spring Island
- Saturna Island

Which Health Authorities Are Included?
Eligible workers must be employed by one of the public health organizations recognized under the initiative.

However, employment with one of these organizations does not automatically guarantee provincial nomination. Each health authority has its own internal process for deciding whether it will support a worker’s application. Work Experience Requirement
Applicants need relevant Canadian work experience before they can register.
One of the major eligibility conditions is having at least nine months of full-time work experience in an eligible occupation immediately before registration. The qualifying experience must have been obtained while working for a B.C. health authority.
This requirement means prospective applicants cannot simply obtain an eligible job offer and immediately qualify for the pathway. Their previous employment history must also meet the program’s conditions.
