Exemption from Paying the Right of Permanent Residence (RPR) Fee
In addition to dependent children and protected persons, certain applicants are exempt from paying the RPR fee. These include:
Sponsored child of a principal applicant under the family reunification class, under the age of 22 years without a spouse or common-law partner.
Principal applicants under the humanitarian and compassionate consideration and public policy classes.
It’s essential to note that “permit holder” applicants cannot include accompanying family members in their permanent residence applications. Individuals qualifying for PR through this class must submit their Canada PR application as principal applicants.
Additional Fees Required for Canada PR Visa
Apart from the outlined fees, obtaining a Canada PR visa necessitates payments for various additional services:
Language Proficiency Test: Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in either English or French through tests like IELTS, costing around INR 17,000, and valid for 2 years.
Educational Credential Assessment: The evaluation of foreign educational credentials through Canadian bodies like WES incurs costs of around CAD 200, plus delivery fees.
Medical Examination: A medical examination by recognized panel doctors costs approximately CAD 70 to 100.
Police Clearance Certificate: Obtaining a police clearance certificate, indicating a clean criminal record, costs around CAD 10.
Biometric Fees: Providing biometric information entails a fee of approximately CAD 85, with families applying together for a visitor visa incurring a maximum fee of CAD 170.
Proof of Funds: Applicants under the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP) or Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP) must demonstrate settlement funds to support themselves and accompanying family members.
