Ontario Invites Master’s Program Candidates in Its Latest Draw

The Ontario Immigration Nominee Program issued a total of 823 invitations on 20th September.
The 823 ITAs were granted to the candidates from the Expression of Interest system pool who might be eligible for the Master’s Graduate Stream.
The minimum CRS score for the draw was 33 points.

    Provincial Nominee Program

The purpose of the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) is to assist provinces in luring immigrants who can fill local labor shortages.
Candidates who fit the requirements for a particular pathway and who are nominated by a province may include this information in their application for permanent residence with Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
Except for Quebec and Nunavut, every province and territory in Canada runs its own PNP.

Why is a Provincial Nominee Program needed in Ontario?

Ontario was the last province to implement a PNP in 2007, and this was because of its already sizable immigrant population.
The implementation of the system provided Ontario the opportunity to choose people who would be a suitable fit and address workforce shortfalls as well as greater opportunities for immigrants to Canada to establish themselves financially inside the province.
