    What is OINP?

The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) is an immigration program operated by the province of Ontario in partnership with the Government of Canada. It allows Ontario to nominate individuals who have the skills, education, and work experience to contribute to the province’s economy.

What is the Human Capital Priorities Stream of OINP?

The Human Capital Priorities Stream is a category within the OINP that targets skilled workers who meet Ontario’s labor market needs. It specifically focuses on candidates who possess the necessary human capital factors to integrate successfully into Ontario’s workforce and community.

    How Does It Work?

Under the Human Capital Priorities Stream, Ontario selects candidates from the federal Express Entry pool who meet specific criteria such as education, work experience, language proficiency, and other factors. Candidates must meet the minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score determined for each draw, as was the case in the July 18th draw where the CRS cutoff ranged between 424 to 444.

Candidates selected through this stream receive a Notification of Interest (NOI) from Ontario, inviting them to apply for provincial nomination. Upon receiving the NOI, candidates have a specified period to submit their application for provincial nomination to Ontario. If successful, candidates receive a provincial nomination certificate, which they can then use to apply for Canadian permanent residence to the federal government.

Overall, the Human Capital Priorities Stream of OINP plays a crucial role in Ontario’s efforts to attract skilled workers who can contribute to the province’s economic growth and development while meeting its specific labor market needs.
