Canada Invites 150 Transport Workers for PR in Second Category-Based Express Entry Draw of 2026

Canada has held another Express Entry draw for transport professionals, offering 150 candidates an opportunity to apply for permanent residence. Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) conducted the round on October 28, 2026, under the Transport occupations category, with a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 477.

The latest selection follows Canada’s revised category-based approach to Express Entry and provides another opportunity for eligible transport workers to pursue Canadian permanent residence.

Invitations to Apply for the Federal Skilled Worker Program, Canadian Experience Class and Federal Skilled Trades Program may be issued through this round of invitations.

Total Express Entry ITAs for 2026

With this latest draw, IRCC has now issued 149,409 ITAs through Express Entry in 2026. The distribution of invitations clearly reflects the department’s priority streams.

The high volume of Canadian Experience Class invitations indicates a growing emphasis on bilingual talent as Canada works to meet its long-term Francophone immigration targets.

    Category-Based Draws Conducted in 2026

Express Entry rounds this year have been limited to specific streams rather than broad, multi-program draws.

The draws are now divided as follows:

Provincial Nominee Program draws have been the most frequent in 2026, reflecting the federal government’s collaboration with provinces to address localized workforce shortages.

Eligible Occupations Under the New Category

The senior manager category was introduced as part of immigration policy adjustments announced in February 2026, which added several new occupational groups to category-based selection. To qualify, applicants must have at least one year of Canadian work experience within the last three years in one of the following leadership roles listed under the National Occupation Classification (NOC):

These occupations represent executive-level roles that play a key part in managing major industries and organisations across Canada.

Upcoming CRS Changes: What Candidates Should Know

Changes to Canada’s Express Entry CRS system are scheduled to take effect on November 3, 2026. Under the announced approach described in the supplied information, some candidates may receive additional points based on qualifying high-wage job offers or Canadian work experience in eligible occupations.
The new Labour Market Integration Factor (LMIF) will compare the applicable scores for a qualifying job offer and Canadian work experience, awarding the higher of the two. Depending on the qualifying circumstances, job offers may contribute 50, 70 or 100 points, while additional Canadian work experience points may be available.
The changes are expected to cover 186 occupations across different wage levels. Eligible job offers will not require a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) to qualify for these CRS points under the revised rules. IRCC may also temporarily pause Express Entry invitation rounds for up to two weeks while candidates’ scores are recalculated.
Candidates should review the official eligibility requirements before relying on the new scoring rules, as the additional points will depend on the occupation, wage level and individual circumstances.

This pattern shows that Express Entry selections have been spread across different programs and targeted categories throughout the year.

    Conclusion

The October 28 round gives eligible transport professionals another opportunity to receive an invitation through Canada’s category-based Express Entry system. However, the rise in the minimum CRS score from 470 in August to 477 in October indicates that the cutoff can change between rounds.
Candidates interested in Canadian permanent residence should make sure their Express Entry profiles are accurate and up to date. Improving language test results, gaining eligible work experience and reviewing the requirements for category-based draws may help applicants strengthen their profiles.

With 65 draws held in 2026, Canada’s Express Entry system continues to offer multiple selection pathways. Transport workers who meet the relevant criteria should monitor upcoming announcements and assess their eligibility as immigration priorities and CRS requirements evolve.
