Over 1,100 Skilled Workers Advance Toward PR in Alberta Draws
Alberta's Late-October Immigration Draws Bring Over 1,100 Skilled Workers Closer to PR
- Draw Highlights by Stream
Four Immigration Draws Target Key Sectors
Leading this round was the AOS, which invited 900 candidates who were already employed in the province and had valid job offers from eligible Alberta employers. This stream is for individuals contributing directly to the province’s economy through full-time employment. Other draws focused on more detailed skill categories:
- On October 24, 142 health care professionals were invited through the Dedicated Health Care Pathway (non-Express Entry).
- On October 28, 60 construction workers received invitations under the Priority Sectors Pathway.
- The final draw on October 29 involved law enforcement professionals and invited fewer than 10 qualified candidates under the Law Enforcement Pathway of the Alberta Express Entry Stream.
Understanding Alberta's Immigration Pathways
Alberta Opportunity Stream (AOS):
This stream caters to foreign workers who already live and work in Alberta with employment opportunities in the long term. It continues to be the largest and most consistent stream under AAIP, appealing to individuals with essential skills and ongoing provincial ties.
Dedicated Health Care Pathway:
It provides a pathway for police services across Alberta to meet their staffing needs by enabling individuals with relevant policing experience and job offers from authorized Alberta police organizations to be qualified for permanent residency.
