Manitoba Conducts New PNP Draw, Invites 77 Skilled Workers

The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) has carried out another provincial immigration draw, inviting skilled foreign workers to apply for a provincial nomination under its Skilled Worker Stream. The latest invitation round reflects Manitoba’s continued focus on attracting candidates who have already established connections with the province through targeted recruitment programs and employer-driven initiatives.

Held on July 2, 2026, the draw resulted in 77 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) being issued. Candidates selected through this round had previously received invitations from Manitoba under specific strategic recruitment efforts rather than being chosen solely based on their Expression of Interest (EOI) scores.

    Manitoba Continues Employer-Focused Immigration Selection

Unlike general provincial draws, this invitation round targeted applicants who had already been identified through Manitoba’s strategic recruitment channels. These initiatives are designed to address labour shortages by connecting qualified international talent with employers and communities across the province.

The July 2 draw included candidates from both categories under the Skilled Worker Stream:

To be eligible, applicants needed to indicate in their Expression of Interest profile that they had received an invitation through one of Manitoba’s approved recruitment initiatives. Candidates who benefited from the former Temporary Public Policy that supported work permits for prospective provincial nominees were also considered.

    Breakdown of Invitations Issued

The majority of invitations were distributed through employer-supported recruitment efforts, highlighting the province’s commitment to meeting workforce demands.
Strategic Recruitment Initiative Letters of Advice to Apply
    Employer Services 36
Temporary Public Policy (TPP) Support Letter Holders 31
    Francophone Community Initiative 8
    Regional Community Recruitment 2
    Total 77

Employer Services accounted for the largest share of invitations, demonstrating that Manitoba continues to prioritize candidates who already have strong employment connections within the province.

Express Entry Candidates Also Received Invitations

Among the selected applicants, 15 candidates possessed active federal Express Entry profiles along with valid job seeker validation codes.

Receiving a provincial nomination through an enhanced stream linked to Express Entry can significantly improve an applicant’s chances of obtaining permanent residence by adding additional points to their federal immigration profile.

Why Some Eligible Candidates May Not Have Been Invited

The Manitoba government also clarified why certain candidates who appeared to qualify may not have received invitations during this selection round.
    Some common reasons include:
Applicants are encouraged to carefully review their profiles to ensure all information remains accurate and up to date before future draws.

Manitoba Continues Targeted Invitations for TPP Support Letter Holders

Earlier this year, Manitoba announced that it would conduct dedicated invitation rounds for individuals who received Support Letters under the Temporary Public Policy (TPP), particularly those approved between April 22 and June 30, 2025.

Since introducing this targeted approach, the province has issued 579 invitations to eligible TPP Support Letter holders. A significant portion of these invitations was distributed during the first dedicated draw held in early May, indicating Manitoba’s commitment to processing this group efficiently.

Provincial Invitation Numbers Continue to Rise in 2026

With the latest selection round included, Manitoba has now issued 1,910 Letters of Advice to Apply during 2026.

The province received a federal nomination allocation of 6,239 provincial nominations for the year, allowing Manitoba to continue selecting workers who can contribute to its labour market and economic growth. Government data also indicates that by the end of May, more than 2,100 skilled workers had already received provincial nominations. Since nominations are often finalized several months after invitations are issued, the number of approved nominations does not always correspond directly with the total invitations issued during the same calendar year.

Monthly Skilled Worker Draw Activity in 2026

Manitoba’s Skilled Worker Stream has remained active throughout the year, although the number of invitations has varied depending on labour market requirements.

Manitoba Maintains a Strategic Approach to Immigration

The latest draw demonstrates Manitoba’s continued emphasis on selecting candidates who have established ties to the province through employers, regional communities, Francophone recruitment, or previous government-supported initiatives. Rather than relying exclusively on broad invitation rounds, the province is increasingly using targeted recruitment strategies to fill labour shortages in key sectors.

With thousands of nominations still available under its 2026 allocation, Manitoba is expected to continue conducting invitation rounds throughout the year, creating additional opportunities for skilled workers seeking Canadian permanent residence through the Provincial Nominee Program.
