BREAKING NEWS: MPNP PNP Latest Draw #273
Manitoba Invites 124 Immigration Candidates Through Targeted Recruitment Programs
The Government of Manitoba has carried out another round of provincial immigration invitations, selecting 124 candidates through its Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP). The invitations were issued on June 18, 2026, under the province’s Skilled Worker immigration pathways, reflecting Manitoba’s continued focus on addressing labour market needs and supporting employers across various sectors.
Employer-Focused Recruitment Dominates Latest Draw
A significant portion of the invitations issued in this round was directed toward candidates connected to Manitoba employers. Through its Employer Services recruitment initiative, the province selected the largest group of applicants, highlighting the importance of employer-driven immigration in Manitoba’s workforce strategy. The distribution of Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) was as follows:
| Strategic recruitment initiative | LAAs issued |
|---|---|
| Strategic Recruitment Category | Invitations Issued |
| Employer Services | 49 |
| Temporary Public Policy (TPP) Work Permit Initiative | 32 |
| Regional Communities | 19 |
| Francophone Community | 15 |
| Ethnocultural Communities | 9 |
These targeted selections demonstrate Manitoba’s efforts to address labour shortages while supporting community development across urban and rural regions.

Express Entry Candidates Also Received Invitations
Express Entry-linked provincial nominations remain highly valuable because they can significantly improve a candidate’s chances of receiving an invitation for Canadian permanent residence through federal immigration pathways.
Eligibility Requirements for This Selection Round
Why Some Eligible Candidates May Not Have Been Selected
The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program noted that some applicants who appeared to meet selection criteria may still have been excluded from receiving invitations. Common reasons include:
- Missing or incorrect language test identification numbers in EOI profiles.
- Expired English or French language test results.
- Invalid strategic recruitment invitation numbers.
- Incomplete information related to recruitment initiative eligibility.
Manitoba Nearing Key Immigration Milestones in 2026
The province was allocated 6,239 nomination spaces by the federal government for the current year, providing Manitoba with substantial capacity to attract skilled workers needed by local employers and communities. Provincial data released earlier this year showed that Manitoba had already approved more than 2,100 nominations by May 2026. The difference between nominations granted and invitations issued this year can largely be attributed to applications submitted from invitations distributed during previous selection cycles.
Manitoba Ends Career Employment Pathway
International graduates who were previously pursuing immigration through CEP were advised to transition to the Skilled Worker in Manitoba pathway if they had accumulated at least six months of eligible work experience within the province. Updating their Expression of Interest profiles will allow them to remain eligible for future provincial selections.
New Support Measures for Rural Employers
Alongside its immigration initiatives, Manitoba has introduced temporary labour market measures aimed at helping employers outside the Winnipeg Census Metropolitan Area recruit foreign workers.
The temporary measures are expected to remain in place until March 31, 2027, helping businesses in smaller communities address ongoing workforce shortages.
Skilled Worker – NB Graduates
- Graduation from a PGWP-eligible program at a New Brunswick DLI
- Full-time employment or a job offer from an eligible NB employer
Manitoba Strengthens Labour Market-Focused Immigration Strategy
As Manitoba moves through the remainder of 2026, further targeted draws are expected as the province works toward utilizing its full nomination allocation while responding to labour market demands across multiple industries.
