B.C. Has Set a 250-Nomination Target
The TRHSI is a temporary immigration measure, with British Columbia planning to nominate up to 250 workers through the initiative. Registration is scheduled to remain open until 11:59 p.m. on October 7, 2026. The original deadline was August 31, but the province extended it following wildfire-related impacts in August.
The province’s 2026 nomination allocation currently stands at 6,254 spaces, following an additional allocation of 1,000 nominations from the federal government.

The nine entrepreneur rounds conducted this year have generated 15 stream-level selections in total. Nine selections were held for Base candidates and six for Regional candidates. Cumulatively, at least 104 entrepreneurs have received invitations through these 2026 selections. Across entrepreneur and skilled-worker categories combined, the BCPNP has issued at least 4,942 invitations so far this year.

These include:
- Central Okanagan Regional District
- Metro Vancouver Regional District
- Capital Regional District
However, specific Gulf Islands are exceptions to the Capital Regional District restriction. These include Galiano Island, Mayne Island, Pender Island, Salt Spring Island and Saturna Island.
Applicants should therefore verify both their work location and employer before assuming that their employment qualifies for the pathway.

October 7 Deadline Makes Early Preparation Important
Workers who believe they may qualify should first verify their occupation, employer, work location, employment history, income records and health-authority support requirements. Because the pathway has a limited nomination target and requires employer or health-authority support, meeting the basic occupation requirement alone does not guarantee an invitation or nomination.
The latest September draw also shows that the minimum score has changed between selections, moving from 50 in July to 60 in September. Applicants should therefore review the current BCPNP requirements rather than relying on the score used in an earlier draw.
