Ontario PNP Holds Two Consecutive Draws on the Same Day

On July 20, 2023, there was a noteworthy event in Ontario as the province conducted two consecutive draws for the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) within the Human Capital Priorities stream. These draws resulted in a total of 1,061 candidates being invited to apply.
In the first draw, 159 candidates received invitations, and the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score range for eligibility was set at 458-462. This particular draw was focused on attracting candidates with expertise in the health sector, making it a targeted Health draw.
Shortly after the first draw, the second draw took place, issuing a significant number of 902 Notifications of Interest (NOIs) to candidates. The CRS score range for this draw was the same as the first one, between 458 and 462. However, this draw was specifically aimed at candidates with skills and qualifications in the technology field, hence being labeled as a targeted Tech draw.

These back-to-back draws demonstrate Ontario’s commitment to selecting skilled individuals from various sectors and aligning its immigration priorities with the province’s specific economic and labor market needs.

    About the Ontario HCP Stream

The Ontario Human Capital Priorities Stream is a crucial component of the province’s Provincial Nominee Program (PNP), designed to attract highly skilled and talented individuals from around the world. This stream focuses on selecting candidates with exceptional human capital attributes, such as education, work experience, language proficiency, and other factors that contribute to their potential to integrate successfully into the Ontario labor market and society.
Through regular draws, Ontario invites candidates who meet the eligibility criteria and have competitive Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) scores to apply for provincial nomination. Successful candidates nominated through the Human Capital Priorities Stream receive an additional 600 CRS points, virtually guaranteeing them an invitation to apply for Canadian permanent residency in subsequent Express Entry draws. The stream plays a vital role in addressing the province’s labor market needs, bolstering its economy, and welcoming talented individuals to contribute to Ontario’s diverse and thriving communities.
