Manitoba Invites 766 Candidates in Latest PNP Draw, With Strong Focus on Manufacturing, Utilities and Transport
Manitoba has conducted another major provincial immigration selection round, inviting 766 candidates to apply for a provincial nomination through the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP).
The latest selection took place on July 30, 2026, as part of Expression of Interest (EOI) Draw #276. The round placed a strong emphasis on candidates already working in Manitoba, particularly those employed in manufacturing, processing and utilities-related occupations.
The province also selected candidates in targeted occupations, French-speaking applicants and individuals connected to specific strategic recruitment initiatives.

The largest portion of the draw was directed toward individuals employed in Manitoba’s manufacturing and utilities sectors, with 605 invitations issued to eligible candidates. A further 74 candidates received invitations based on employment in selected occupations, while 17 invitations went to Francophone candidates. The province also issued 70 invitations to candidates who had been identified through strategic recruitment initiatives.

Manufacturing and Utilities Workers Receive the Largest Share
The MPNP selected the highest-ranking candidates who had indicated in their EOI profiles that they were currently working in Manitoba in occupations covered by Broad Occupational Category 9 under Canada’s National Occupational Classification (NOC) system.
This broad category includes a wide range of roles connected with industrial production, processing, manufacturing and utilities.
Eligible occupational groups included:
- Middle management positions in manufacturing and utilities
- Supervisory roles in processing and manufacturing
- Utilities operators and controllers
- Machine operators and assemblers
- Processing, manufacturing and printing occupations
- Labourers working in processing, manufacturing and utilities
- Central control and process operators
- Aircraft assembly and inspection occupations
Selected Occupations Include Aviation and Healthcare Professionals
These included:
- Aerospace engineers
- Pilots, flight engineers and flying instructors
- Aircraft assemblers and aircraft assembly inspectors
- Aircraft instrument, electrical and avionics mechanics and technicians
- Aircraft mechanics and inspectors
- Facility operation and maintenance managers
- General practitioners and family physicians
Manitoba Continues to Support Francophone Immigration
French-speaking immigration candidates also featured in the latest draw.
The MPNP issued 17 invitations through its Francophone selection category. To be considered, candidates needed to have identified French as their language of communication with Manitoba in their EOI profile and hold valid French-language test results.
Strategic Recruitment Initiatives Bring 70 More Invitations
Manitoba also invited 70 candidates through the Skilled Worker Stream based on their connection to strategic recruitment initiatives. The selection considered candidates from both the Skilled Worker in Manitoba and Skilled Worker Overseas pathways.
However, applicants needed to have previously declared that they had received an invitation through an eligible strategic recruitment initiative or under the relevant temporary public policy. The 70 invitations were distributed among several initiatives:

Most Invitations Went to Candidates Already in Manitoba
The majority of invitations went to people who were already working in Manitoba, particularly those employed in manufacturing, processing and utilities occupations.
This approach can benefit temporary foreign workers and other eligible residents who have gained Canadian work experience and established employment connections in the province.
94 Invitees Had Express Entry Profiles
Among the 766 candidates invited in the latest MPNP selection, 94 had declared a valid Express Entry profile and job seeker validation code.
This is particularly relevant because a provincial nomination can provide a significant boost to an eligible candidate’s Express Entry ranking.
Candidates who receive a nomination through an enhanced provincial pathway and subsequently accept it in the Express Entry system can receive additional CRS points. This can substantially improve their position in the federal selection pool and increase their chances of receiving an invitation to apply for permanent residence.

Manitoba Has Now Issued 4,822 Invitations in 2026
With the July 30 draw, Manitoba has now conducted 15 selection rounds during the year. Across these rounds, the province has issued a total of 4,822 invitations to immigration candidates.
The latest draw further reinforces Manitoba’s use of targeted immigration selections to address specific workforce and community needs. Rather than relying exclusively on broad-based invitations, the province continues to identify candidates based on factors such as occupation, employment in Manitoba, French-language ability and strategic recruitment connections.
For prospective applicants, this makes it increasingly important to understand the eligibility criteria for different MPNP pathways before creating or submitting an Expression of Interest profile.
