British Columbia Invites Skilled Workers and Entrepreneurs in Latest BC PNP Draws

British Columbia has issued invitations to candidates through two separate immigration pathways, creating new opportunities for skilled professionals and business investors seeking to settle in Canada. The latest selection rounds under the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) covered the Skills Immigration and Entrepreneur Immigration streams.
The October selections targeted healthcare support professionals under a specialised initiative and entrepreneurs interested in establishing or expanding businesses in the province. A total of 30 invitations were issued across the two streams, alongside fewer than five additional invitations under the Entrepreneur Regional stream.

The latest selection activity took place on October 15 and October 20, 2026. While the Skills Immigration draw focused on a specific workforce requirement, the entrepreneur selections assessed candidates based on their business profiles and investment potential.

    1. Skills Immigration: Healthcare Support Initiative

On October 15, 2026, British Columbia invited 16 candidates through the Temporary Rural/Remote Health Support Initiative.

    2. Entrepreneur Immigration: Business Investment Opportunities

British Columbia also conducted an Entrepreneur Immigration selection on October 20, 2026. The round included invitations under both the Base and Regional streams.

Both entrepreneur pathways recorded a minimum score of 118. These streams provide opportunities for qualified business owners and experienced managers who intend to contribute to British Columbia’s economy through business establishment or expansion.

Who Can Apply Through the Two BC PNP Pathways?

The BC PNP offers different immigration options depending on an applicant’s professional background and long-term plans.

    Skills Immigration

This pathway is intended for eligible foreign workers whose qualifications and employment profiles match British Columbia’s workforce requirements. Depending on the category, applicants may need relevant work experience, educational credentials, language proficiency and an eligible job offer. The Temporary Rural/Remote Health Support Initiative has a more specific focus, with selection based on the requirements applicable to that initiative.

    Entrepreneur Immigration

This pathway is suitable for experienced entrepreneurs who have the financial resources and business expertise to establish, purchase or operate a business in British Columbia.

The two available options serve different business objectives:

The program has issued at least 114 Entrepreneur Immigration invitations so far in 2026. When Skills Immigration selections are also included, the BCPNP has issued more than 5,400 invitations during the year.

How to Apply for the BC PNP?

The application procedure depends on the immigration category. However, both pathways involve eligibility assessment, registration or application, and provincial selection.

For Skills Immigration, candidates should first identify the appropriate category and check its employment, education and language requirements. Where registration is required, they must create a profile through the BC PNP Online system and wait for an invitation. Selected candidates can then submit their complete applications with supporting documents.

Entrepreneurs must prepare a business proposal and demonstrate that they meet the applicable investment, personal net worth, business experience and job creation requirements. Following registration and selection, invited candidates can proceed with the application process.

Successful entrepreneur applicants must also fulfil their business establishment and performance agreement obligations before progressing towards provincial nomination.

    Conclusion

Receiving an invitation does not automatically grant permanent residence in Canada. Candidates must submit their applications within the specified deadlines and satisfy the relevant provincial requirements.

Once British Columbia approves an eligible applicant for provincial nomination, the next step is to apply for permanent residence through Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), following the applicable federal process.
