Nova Scotia PNP Invited 330 Express Entry Candidates on 7th October 2021

Nova Scotia PNP invited 330 Express Entry Candidates on 7th October 2021
Out of the two NSNP draws, one draw invited 286 people with a pre-holding job offer in Nova Scotia, and at least one year’s worth of work experience in any skilled occupation. It also demanded they have a Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) of at least 5 in English.
The second NSNP draw invited 44 carpenters with at least two years of skilled trades experience and a CLB 5 in English.
The NSNP held the draws under the Nova Scotia Labour Market Priorities stream.
The invited candidates are given the last date till November 6 to apply for the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP).
The detailed criteria for inviting candidates in both the draws were:
(1.) The First draw for 286 candidates:
- The candidates should have a job offer from an employer of Nova Scotia for full-time skilled work in the province with a time limit (30 hours a week) of at least one year after their permanent resident visa is issued
- They should have at least one year of skilled work experience related to the applied skilled job
- It is also compulsory to have a Canadian high school credential
- Cross Canadian Language Benchmark 5 in language tests in English
(2.) The second draw for 44 candidates:
- The candidate should be an experienced carpenter.
- They should provide a reference letter from former employers to prove that they have two or more years of skilled trades experience as a carpenter.
- Self-employed workers should provide documentation from third parties(clients) to prove their experience.
- They should also cross the Canadian Language Benchmark score of 5 or higher in English in IELTS or other related language tests.
For both the draws, the candidates should apply for the next process, no later than 11:59 p.m., Nov. 6, 2021.
Just like other provinces of Canada, Nova Scotia is also aiming at achieving a higher population density from 971,000 to two million by the year 2060. Hence, the province needs to invite more and more skilled immigrants by then. However, the invitations depend on the workforce requirement of the province and the PR is also further decided by the same factor.
What is Express Entry Stream?
Express Entry is a fast-tracked immigration stream that the federal government uses to manage permanent residence applications and fulfill the labor requirement of the country.
Nova Scotia and other provinces search for the required & eligible candidates from the Express Entry pool through the Labour Market Priorities Stream.
Express Entry has the following three sub-categories:
The invited Express Entry candidates would receive an additional 600 points for their CRS Score only if they successfully receive the provincial nomination and this additional point can also guarantee an invitation to apply for their Canadian permanent residence.
