Manitoba invited 459 PNP Candidates in its Latest Draw
In the draws held on 21st October 2021, Manitoba invited 459 candidates for its Provincial Nomination Program. With the latest draw in play, the total number of candidates invited by Manitoba reached 9150 since January.
The sub-categories under which the PNP draw was:
Skilled Workers in Manitoba — 388 invitations (minimum score of 375)
Skilled Workers Overseas — 39 invitations (minimum score of 716)
International Education Stream — 37 invitations (no score requirement)
Other than the above three categories, 94 candidates were invited from the Express Entry pool.
What is an Express Entry System?
Express Entry System is the most famous and fast-tracked immigration program of Canada, which has a procedure period of 6-8 months. It is used to meet the labor market demand of the country through three federal high-skilled immigration programs:
The Canadian Experience Class
The Federal Skilled Worker Program
The Federal Skilled Trades Program
Candidates in the Express Entry Pool are ranked by their CRS score and the ones with the highest scores are invited through the regular Express Entry draws to apply for permanent residence. The candidates can apply for a direct Express Entry stream by skipping the PNPs. But holding a PNP nomination can add up extra 600 points to the CRS score, hence increasing the chances of getting an ITA for Permanent Residency in a subsequent express entry draw.
Manitoba immigration programs
Just like any other province, Manitoba has its own provincial immigration streams under the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program. It is solely dedicated to meeting the labor market demand of Manitoba that is left vacant by the local skills. The MPNP provides skilled/trade international workers a chance to work and permanently reside in Manitoba.
To avail of the benefits from the Manitoba PNP, the candidates should register an EOI with the MPNP. This can provide the candidates a chance to receive an LAA through the following sub-categories:
Skilled Workers Overseas streams
Skilled Workers in Manitoba. ( You need to have a full-time job offer in hand to get into this program)
The above two sub-categories are used by the province to meet its labor market shortage.
The province of Manitoba ranks the candidates out of 1000 points which include factors like age, work experience, education, funds, connections to Canada.
While taking care of the working professionals, Manitoba also allows the international graduates who have completed their education in the province to be eligible for an invitation under the International Education Stream if they can demonstrate that they have in-demand skills.
To apply for this program, go to the Ontario Website and register an EOI profile on the platform.
