This program is a PNP-aligned Express Entry stream that allows the province of PEI to choose the eligible candidates from the pool of Express Entry to nominate for PR.
Express Entry manages three Federal High Skilled programs:
On being eligible for the Express Entry pool, the candidates would receive a CRS score based on various factors in consideration, which would determine their chances of getting selected for the PR. The scores are determined by factors such as age, education, work experience, language ability in English or French, and other factors.
Canada’s immigration department holds draws to invite the high-scoring Express Entry candidates for PR.
It is quite possible to enter Canada through the Express Entry stream but having a PNP nomination adds up extra marks up to 600 CRS points, which can increase the chances of getting invited for PR.
The Labour Impact Category is open for the international candidates with a valid job offer in PEI, and wishes to reside in PEI. This category is further divided into three sub-categories:
It demands the candidates to submit an Expression of Interest in order to be considered for a provincial nomination.
Here, the foreign candidates should meet the minimum provincial score requirement in order to be eligible to proceed with their applications. The minimum score cut-off varies in each draw.
The invitations issued by PEI in the latest draw were under the Work Permit Stream, which invited foreign entrepreneurs who want to own and operate a business on the island.
