    Express Entry Draw #306 Issues 964 ITA's

On July 30, 2024, Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) conducted its latest Express Entry draw, issuing invitations to apply (ITAs). In this draw, IRCC invited 964 candidates exclusively from the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP). Candidates needed a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 686 to receive an invitation.

Details of the draw: July 30, 2024

If more than one candidate has the lowest score, the cut-off is based on the date and time they submitted their Express Entry profiles.
This draw was the eighth conducted in a notably active month for Express Entry. Throughout July, draws have alternated between program-specific selections, such as those for the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) and PNP, and category-based selections. In category-based draws, a significant number of ITAs were allocated to candidates with French language skills, totaling 5,000 ITAs across two draws. On July 5, 3,750 ITAs were issued to healthcare professionals, while 1,800 ITAs were given to candidates in trade occupations on July 4. Program-specific draws have also seen a substantial number of ITAs. By July 18, IRCC had invited 6,300 candidates from the Canadian Experience Class and 2,311 from the Provincial Nominee Program. Many of these candidates are already residing and working in Canada temporarily. The resumption of program-specific draws on May 30, after a year-long hiatus, reflects IRCC’s stated intention to increase domestic selections. Earlier this year, IRCC set a new objective to stabilize and reduce the number of temporary residents in Canada while achieving its permanent residency goals as outlined in the Immigration Levels Plan.

    What is Express Entry?

Express Entry is a system used to manage applications for three key Canadian immigration programs: the Federal Skilled Worker Program, the Canadian Experience Class, and the Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP).

These programs represent some of Canada’s most significant economic immigration pathways. They all employ the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) to assess candidates based on factors such as age, education, occupation, language proficiency, and work experience.

Each of these factors is assigned a score, and the aggregate of these scores determines a candidate’s overall CRS score. This system helps identify candidates who are likely to make valuable contributions to Canada’s workforce and enhance its demographic profile. Candidates with higher CRS scores have a greater chance of receiving an Invitation to Apply (ITA).

The primary goal of Express Entry is to streamline the immigration process for highly skilled individuals. The system is designed to expedite processing times, with the department setting a target of six months for processing Express Entry applications.
