Latest Express Entry Draw Issues 3,300 ITAs to Canadian Experience Class Candidates

Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) have issued invitations to apply (ITAs) in the second Express Entry draw this week, on 27th August 2024.
In this round, 3,300 candidates were invited under the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) category. To qualify, candidates needed to have a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 507.

Details of the draw: August 27th, 2024

If more than one candidate has the lowest score, the cut-off is based on the date and time they submitted their Express Entry profiles.

    About previous Express Entry draws:

Just a day earlier, on 26th August, IRCC conducted a Provincial Nominee Program-only (PNP) draw, inviting 1,121 candidates who required a minimum CRS score of 694 to be eligible.
The last time multiple Express Entry draws occurred was between August 13-15. On August 15, a category-based draw targeted candidates with French-speaking proficiency. On August 13, 763 candidates were invited in a PNP-only draw, requiring a minimum score of 690. The draw on August 14 saw 3,200 CEC candidates with a minimum score of 509 being invited.
IRCC has established a recent trend of holding multiple draws every other week. In particular, there has been an increase in PNP and CEC draws over the past few months. This approach aligns with IRCC’s strategy to focus on domestic draws to reduce the number of temporary residents in Canada while also working toward the permanent resident admissions targets outlined in the Immigration Levels Plan for 2024-2026.
IRCC aims to welcome 110,770 newcomers through Express Entry in 2024 and 117,500 in 2025. Candidates who receive ITAs in the latter half of this year are more likely to contribute to meeting the 2025 target, given that IRCC has a service standard of six months to process finalized Express Entry applications.

    Express Entry Draw Reports

    What is Express Entry?

Express Entry is an online system used to manage applications for three key economic immigration programs: the Federal Skilled Worker Program, the Federal Skilled Trades Program, and the Canadian Experience Class.
Candidates applying through these programs are assessed and ranked using the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS), which considers various human capital factors. Points are awarded based on work experience, occupation, age, education, language proficiency, and additional factors like having a spouse or sibling in Canada.
These points are combined to determine a candidate’s overall CRS score. Those with the highest scores are more likely to receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residency in upcoming Express Entry draws.
In May 2023, IRCC introduced category-specific rounds of invitations, allowing Express Entry draws to focus on candidates with specific occupations or language skills.
