    Express Entry Draw Reports

    What is Express Entry?

Express Entry is a digital system introduced in 2015 to manage applications for three of Canada’s major immigration streams: the Federal Skilled Worker Program, the Federal Skilled Trades Program, and the Canadian Experience Class.
These programs evaluate applicants based on the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS), which assigns points based on key factors such as language proficiency, education, work history, age, and occupation. Additional points can be earned if a candidate has a sibling living in Canada, applies with a spouse or partner, or achieves high scores in both English and French through the Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) system.
All these factors contribute to a candidate’s overall CRS score. Those with the highest scores are more likely to be invited to apply for permanent residence in future Express Entry draws.
In 2023, Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) also began conducting category-based draws for candidates with specific qualifications, such as their professional background or language skills.

    Six categories were highlighted

These categories were selected following consultations with various stakeholders to address workforce shortages in key sectors and meet demographic goals. For instance, prioritizing French-language skills supports Canada’s objective of increasing French-speaking immigrants outside Quebec, particularly in minority communities.
After receiving an Invitation to Apply (ITA), candidates have 60 days to submit their full application to IRCC. The department aims to process Express Entry applications within six months.
