Canada Express Entry Draw : Invites 648 for Provincial Nominee Program Candidates with CRS 791

On October 21, 2024, Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) conducted another Express Entry draw, issuing 648 Invitations to Apply (ITAs). This draw was exclusively for candidates in the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP), requiring a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 791 for eligibility.

Details of the draw: October 22, 2024

If more than one candidate has the lowest score, the cut-off is based on the date and time they submitted their Express Entry profiles.

    Consistent PNP Draws throughout October

This marks the second PNP-specific Express Entry draw in October. The previous draw, held on October 7, 2024, invited 1,613 candidates with a minimum CRS score of 743. The IRCC has demonstrated a regular pattern of holding multiple draws each month, often reserving one for PNP candidates.
Since May 30, 2024, IRCC has issued 12,815 ITAs in PNP-only draws, signaling a significant emphasis on selecting candidates nominated by provinces. This shift highlights the IRCC’s efforts to streamline the immigration process for those already contributing to Canada’s economy as temporary residents.

IRCC’s Focus on Domestic Immigration Targets

Looking ahead, the 2025-2027 Immigration Levels Plan is expected to be unveiled by November 1, 2024. This will outline new targets for permanent residency admissions, shaping the future of Canada’s immigration strategy.

An additional 600 CRS points benefit Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) candidates, significantly increasing their chances of receiving an ITA in a PNP draw.

How CRS Scores Impact Your ITA Chances

The CRS score is a pivotal element in determining who receives an ITA. The higher the CRS score, the better the chance of being invited to a future Express Entry draw. Candidates can boost their scores by securing a provincial nomination, improving their language test results, gaining work experience, or applying with a spouse or family in Canada.

Summary of Express Entry Draws in 2024

Throughout 2024, IRCC has maintained a consistent cadence of draws, inviting thousands of candidates across various categories. These draws reflect Canada’s commitment to welcoming skilled individuals who can contribute to the country’s economy and meet labor demands.
