Canada Issues Invitations for Canadian Experience Class in Latest Express Entry Draw

Canada’s Express Entry system has just completed another major round of invitations, this time focusing once again on Canadian Experience Class (CEC) candidates. The draw, held on June 26, marks a continuation of a trend that could reshape IRCC’s approach to skilled immigration this year.

The latest round saw 3,000 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) issued to CEC candidates who met a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 521. Only those who had created their Express Entry profiles before 3:56 p.m. UTC on November 21, 2024, were eligible for selection.

If more than one candidate has the lowest score, the cut-off is based on the date and time they submitted their Express Entry profiles.

Invitations to apply to the Federal Skilled Worker Program, Canadian Experience Class and Federal Skilled Trades Program may be issued through this round of invitations.

Next Steps After Receiving an ITA

Candidates who receive an ITA must submit a full and accurate application for permanent residency. It’s important to understand that once an application is submitted, it moves into a formal assessment stage, where the accuracy of information is thoroughly verified.

Submitting incorrect details, omitting key facts, or providing misleading information is considered misrepresentation and may lead to:

To avoid complications, applicants should double-check every detail and ensure that their documentation supports their profile data.

Current Express Entry Trends and Category Breakdown

With the latest draw, the healthcare and social services category now joins a growing list of specialized selection categories implemented this year. The distribution of draws in 2025 highlights a more nuanced approach to selecting candidates who meet Canada’s urgent labour and demographic needs.

    Draw Type Number of Draws
    Provincial Nominee Program 7
    French-language proficiency 3
    Canadian Experience Class 3
    Education 1

    Strategic Implications for Immigration Aspirants

The recent shift to multiple CEC draws within a single month may suggest that IRCC is aligning its selection process with broader labour market goals — particularly in retaining international graduates and temporary workers already present in Canada.
That said, CRS scores continue to remain high, underscoring the importance of a competitive profile. Candidates currently working or studying in Canada may benefit from this renewed CEC focus, provided they meet the eligibility thresholds.

    What Lies Ahead?

The June 26 draw adds to growing optimism among CEC hopefuls. However, it’s too early to conclude whether this pattern will continue consistently through the latter half of 2025.
With IRCC often adapting its draw strategy in response to economic indicators and provincial input, candidates should stay vigilant, ensure their profiles are up-to-date, and seek professional advice to enhance their immigration prospects.
