3,000 ITAs in Latest Express Entry Draw Focused on Healthcare Workers

In a significant move, Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) conducted a healthcare-focused Express Entry draw on November 20. This marks the first healthcare-specific draw since July, underscoring Canada’s commitment to strengthening its healthcare workforce through skilled immigration.
In this category-based selection draw, 3,000 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) were issued. Candidates needed a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 463 to qualify.

Details of the draw: November 20, 2024

If more than one candidate has the lowest score, the cut-off is based on the date and time they submitted their Express Entry profiles.

A Week of Rapid-Fire Express Entry Draws

This draw is the third in a series of Express Entry draws held this week, following:
The back-to-back draws highlight IRCC’s proactive approach in meeting Canada’s labor market demands. Notably, Express Entry draws have been conducted for two consecutive weeks, signaling an increased focus on economic immigration.

    Rising Targets for 2025

Canada’s ambitious Immigration Levels Plan for the coming year outlines a goal of welcoming 124,680 Express Entry candidates. Over 82,000 admissions are earmarked for the newly introduced In-Canada Focus category, which prioritizes CEC candidates but also includes those in the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP), and PNP-aligned streams.
Additionally, the remaining 41,700 admissions are allocated to the Federal Economic Priorities category, targeting candidates with skills in high-demand professions.
